I was just looking through the DisneyCareers.com job database and found a posting for "Director – Regional Resorts, WDP&R"

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Description:
This executive will assist in the investigation, development, implementation, and post-launch operation of the Regional Resorts business for Walt Disney Parks & Resorts. This role is critical in the formulation of the initial business and operating strategy, as well as the post-launch expansion strategy. The successful candidate will lead and participate in the business plan/pro forma development process, and will partner with the creative and development teams to ensure the realization of that plan within the physical product and guest experience. Additionally, he/she will act as a key project liaison with the many Disney internal partners required for a successful business launch, including coordination of project research in support of the business plan, assisting in the final deal negotiations associated with the choice of new Regional Resorts sites, and supporting the development of a pre-opening marketing and sales strategy.

Job Requirements:
Oversee and conduct financial modeling and analysis for all relevant project work
Build detailed pro forma financial statements to evaluate projected returns to the company and potential partners
Provide detailed program requirements to design and development teams
Drive pre-opening operational planning and determine business launch requirements
Review and assist in the negotiation of business deal terms
Perform research analytics using primary and secondary information sourcing
Prepare, analyze and present departmental budgets (current year, AOP, and Five Year Plan)
Prepare presentations to senior executives to support major strategic and financial decision making
Provide development and training feedback to less senior Cast Members
Possess the ability to lead/manage a team of professionals

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Minimum 7- 10 years of related work experience
Exceptional relationship and negotiation skills, with proven ability to develop strong working relationships with internal partners, different cultures, varied seniority levels, and outside entities
Excellent coordination and process management capabilities
Advanced quantitative and analytical skills, including the capability to perform market analysis, financial analysis, and complex project feasibility analysis.
Strong proven business planning and pro forma development skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including a proficiency in clear, concise, and compelling written communication.
Ability to travel domestically up to 25%
Demonstrated orientation to action in a flexible, fast-paced work environment

Desired Qualifications –
MBA with a concentration in Finance or International Business
Experience (both financial and operational) in the Hospitality and/or Cruise Industry
Proven experience developing new projects
Experience with the Walt Disney Company in Business Planning, Development or Finance

I would have to guess these are the things Lou had in the rumor mill a few months back. The idea that Disney was thinking of branching out and starting a few very small resorts in "niche" areas of the country, but separate and distinct from WDW itself.

HMMMMM....interesting. Sounds like they need someone to research and startup a new hotel/resort somewhere not on Disney property. That would be cool. Come build one near me, lord knows there is nothing else exciting around here.

Yes, but it's being owned/operated/managed by Four Seasons. Disney wouldn't be posting a job for someone to manage it, Four Seasons would.
