The Story Behind the Mic
From the Courtroom to the Kingdom
Lou Mongello’s story is one of the most compelling in independent media — a lawyer who walked away from it all to follow his passion for Disney.
In 2003, he launched what would become WDW Radio as a way to share his love for the parks. Within a few years, the podcast had grown into one of the most recognized Disney media brands in the world.

A special thank you to Shure for providing the microphones we used throughout the WDW Radio booth at D23. We relied on one MV7X at the host position and three SM58s for guest interviews, and they delivered clear, reliable sound throughout a very busy and noisy show floor.
I’ve trusted Shure microphones for years, and they once again proved why. Learn more about their microphones and complete audio lineup at shure.com
